Robert Howald, Rodger Martin and James Cox of Canada Lands Company (CLC) attended the Town of Port Credit Association (TOPCA)’s Annual General Meeting and Town Hall Meeting entitled ‘On The Waterfront’ on November 24, 2014. The City of Mississauga and James Cox provided an update on the City’s master planning process for 1 Port Street.

The City told the meeting it is completing its master plan and will be bringing forward Local Area Plan policies to guide the redevelopment of 1 Port in 2015. The evening’s panel discussion featured presentations and/or remarks by Councillor Jim Tovey, Councillor Pat Mullin, Ruth Marland, Brian Lambie, John Danahy, The Honourable Charles Sousa and James Cox. Thanks to TOPCA and its Executives Dorothy Tomiuk and Mary Simpson for  convening an interesting and informative Town Hall and AGM.

At the meeting Councillor Jim Tovey and Ruth Marland of Inspiration Port Credit announced that the City has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CLC.  They noted that the master plan process has identified a sustainable marina as one of the key priorities for the redevelopment of 1 Port. With support from CLC, the City will undertake a business case to inform the marina’s future, the master plan, and the Local Area Policies.  The business case is slated for completion by June 30, 2015.
