Project Update: February 2018

The City of Mississauga and Canada Lands Company are pleased to announce that they have come to an agreement regarding the long-term protection of the Port Credit marina, a key community and marina stakeholder objective identified during Canada Lands’ and the City’s Inspiration Port Credit community consultation process.

The marina agreement includes the City acquiring ownership of land at the base of the marina and the entire waterlot (see areas shaded in blue and orange in attached sketch). The City’s acquisition will occur in two separate transfers:

  1. The initial lands/waterlot (area shaded in blue), which includes the “Ridgetown” breakwater and east breakwater, was transferred to the City in January 2018. The transition of these areas to the City will respect the lease with the current marina operator, Centre City Capital Limited.
  2. A subsequent lands/waterlot section (area shaded in orange) will be transferred at a later date to be determined.
