Why are there Drillers and Surveyors at the Marina?

Over the next few weeks, contractors (Golder Associates and W.F. Baird & Associates Coastal Engineers) for the City of Mississauga will be drilling boreholes and installing monitoring wells to collect soil and groundwater samples on the marina lands between Elizabeth and Helene Streets and on the eastern and southern sides of the warehouse/terminal building.  Sediment and water samples will be collected within the waterlot along with completing a survey. This is standard and routine coastal and environmental work that is part of the commitment by the City and Canada Lands Company to protect for a future marina use on site as recommended in the 1 Port Street Master Plan approved by Council on June 8, 2016.
